Early Foray Into Engineering
Dr. Faisal Qidwai’s educational background began at the University of New South Wales, where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree. His fascination with problem-solving and design inspired this choice. Upon completing his degree, he worked on large-scale projects with publicly listed companies, contributing to residential developments, commercial fit-outs, and infrastructure upgrades. His leadership in managing teams, overseeing contracts, and ensuring quality control played a crucial role in the success of these projects.
Though successful in engineering, Dr. Qidwai credits this experience for shaping his methodical thinking, analytical mindset, and ability to navigate complex systems — all of which later informed his leadership and problem-solving approach in the medical and organizational sectors.
Transition to Law and Medicine

In 2004, he enrolled in the Law Faculty at the University of New South Wales but later redirected his focus toward medicine and community health. He joined Bond University in 2006 and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Medicine degree, specializing in surgery.
During his medical studies, he excelled academically and volunteered at student-run clinics, where he provided health assessments and support to underserved populations on the Gold Coast. His involvement in community healthcare and medical research reinforced his dedication to improving access and equity in the healthcare system.
His training included residencies at Nepean Public Hospital, completion of a Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course, and a diploma in child health from Westmead Children’s Hospital in 2014. He later obtained a fellowship at the Royal Australian College of General Practice in 2015. Further studies included advanced skills in skin and cancer surgery (2018), as well as training in dermoscopy, excision, sedation, and vasectomy — solidifying his diverse expertise.
